Company History
Slingshot is a division of Celerity Solutions Inc. The division was established in January of 2000 to develop and market a new generation of “Internet-based” applications.
Slingshot has its roots in Cardinal Data Corp which was founded in 1981 by Celerity’s current CEO, Paul Carr. Cardinal developed a suite of procurement, distribution and financial applications running on Hewlett Packard and Digital Equipment computers. In 1989 Cardinal was acquired by a California software company Ross Systems Inc. Mr. Carr joined Ross as Vice President, Logistics Products Division. In 1991 Mr. Carr repurchased his operation (customers and products) from Ross and formed CSTI. CSTI developed a “Client/Server” version of its software for Microsoft’s NT operating system. In 1997, Capital Multimedia Inc acquired CSTI. In early 1998 Capital also acquired Somerset Automation, a warehouse management software company based in Irvine California. The combined companies had licensed its mini-computer and client/server based products to about 200 companies worldwide.
Mr. Carr took over as CEO of Celerity in early 2000, formed Slingshot, and began building Internet-based applications. The first production release of our Procurement suite was completed in 2003. Our solution set has since expanded to include Sales Order Management, Planning / Inventory Management and our newest - Advanced Financial Management products.
